Review
Danan The Jungle FighterSTORY / GAMEPLAY
You control Danan and your mission is to find who killed Jimba! Jimba was a young Amazon tribesman who rescued you from an airplane crash when you were an infant. But to complete the puzzle it's not an easy task, as you have to go through the hot and wet Amazonian terrains swarmed by evil enemies (most of them carrying deadly bows and arrows). You use your knife to kill every enemy since there is no other kind of weapon around! Danan must sometimes enter huts, climb ladders inside to enter the doors towards the top floor, which is required to reach higher plateaus and further advance in particular areas. The game, apart from the classic arcade adventure characteristics, it also features dialogues as well as experience points and equipment gathering. Danan's unique scenario includes ... Nazis that you'll meet halfway through the game! You can power-up your attacks by gaining experience points, finding more powerful knives and by collecting...monkey faces(!)

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The game features colorful and detailed backgrounds and some nicely done sprites that move smoothly and pretty fast for an 8 bit game. The exploration takes place through beautifully designed places such as caves, huts, etc. On the other hand, the game's sound is quite limited, offering a rather repetitive tune during gameplay along with a few basic effects.
